Rothenburg

If you could visit only one German town,
it should be Rothenburg.  It is the quintessential fairy tale
German town.  It is made up of charming pastel colored buildings,
beautiful flower boxes, traditional half timber houses, cobble stone
streets, old fashioned wrought iron shop signs, everything you
could ever want from a European town.

After a leisurely tour through town we stopped
at the Gasthof Greifen for a typical Bavarian
lunch of potato cakes with apple sauce
and sausages with sauerkraut and sweet mustard.
I am going to miss all this delicious Bavarian cuisine!

After lunch it was time to go shopping at the legendary
Kathe Wohlfhart.  This is a famous year round Christmas
store.  But it's not just a store, it is a magical Christmas land.
It is absolutely ginormous and is fully decked out for Christmas
all year long.  It is such a fun place to go exploring.

We walked away with some new Christmas ornaments
and a Steiff stuffed animal each!
