The Last Gasp : A Victorian Murder Mystery

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!
I REVEAL WHO THE MURDERER IS AT THE END OF THIS POST.  I LEFT A NOTE OF WHERE TO STOP READING IF YOU DON'T WISH TO KNOW THE OUTCOME OF THE MYSTERY.

This Halloween Bethy hosted the most fabulous murder mystery dinner, she ordered a Victorian themed one that was entitled the Last Gasp! We were all assigned a character, I was Jardine, the innocent French maid of George Sweet, the 5th earl of coddingham who was poisoned just as the party was starting. We were then all given packets with vital information and were told certain people to talk to and question about suspicious acts. (the pictures are a compilation of mine, Bethy's and Anige's photos!)

The reaction to the murder, Bear and Reece were the inspector and chief of police, they had just come to accuse Mr. Sweet of a murder that was committed a few weeks prior to this gathering.

The poor deceased George Sweet, the 5th earl of Coddingham

We had a buffet of delicious delights to snack on while mingling and attempting to solve the mysterious murder.

I brought these spider eggs. You cook the eggs in water with a couple of cups of blueberries, then you take them out and crack each shell with the end of a spoon then put them back into the blueberry water and put them in the fridge until they are completely cool. Then as you peel away the shell the intricate spiderwebs are left on the hard boiled eggs.

Bethy made these magnifying glasses out of candy.

Nick was my date for the evening, his assigned character was the distinguished Dr. Hammer who was attending to the earl right before his untimely death.

Josh was the dumb gardener who kept the grounds of the Sweet estate and Nick Weight was the young son of the earl who never had a good relationship with his late father.

Through out the night the inspector would read reports and documents that would reveal information that would help us solve the case.

The earls son was a professional ballerina, his father never approved of that career choice ...

The earl had three wives, two ex's and one current at the time of this death, all had excellent motive to murder him.

Towards the end of the night we all gathered for a coffee hour and were given more facts and information. Instead of serving coffee we served the wonderful Crio Bru from Cassandra, Erick and Jon and a spiced concord grape cider, it as all very delicious!

There were a couple of other tasks we were assigned to complete besides solving the murder. One was acquiring the most amount of money by selling your information. Anther way to earn money was to perform a musical number if you were given an instrument in the final will of George Sweet. Angie, Josh and I performed for the group. Angie and Josh did hilarious performances.

STOP HERE IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO KNOW WHO THE MURDERER IS!!!!!!!

The gardener turned out to be not so dumb since he is the one that solved the murder! The murderer was George Sweet's current wife, he had promised her the estate and 20,000 dollars but then had numerous affairs and never gave her either, so she got her revenge. It was the best Halloween party I have ever been to! It was just absolutely fabulous!
